aving no lineage of the entertainment media, Arindam was all set to pursue
his doctoral program at an American university after graduating from St Xavier’s College,
Kolkata and completing his M.B.A. from IISWBM, Kolkata. But quite timely he decided to nurture
himself as an actor which he quite successfully did. During this period of 34 years in his chosen profession,
Arindam has passionately pursued his career as an Actor, Producer, Executive Producer, Line Producer and finally
one of the most accepted, followed and loved Director of the Bengali Filmdom.
Starting off as an actor on stage and television, the observant thespian was motivated to tell stories in his own unique way. After twenty-five years of being a well acclaimed actor, an indomitable want to tell stories had propelled him into being a director. He is now a creator who cradles the spirit of a performer.
In 2007, as an actor on stage, he had toured and performed in twelve cities of United States. He has acted in over ten thousand episodes in numerous Bengali Television serials. He was also a favourite actor of accomplished directors and has worked with Anjan Dutt, Prabhat Roy, Rabiranjan Moitra, Sandip Ray, Koushik Ganguly and the like. Arindam Sil has directed eleven films till date with back to back blockbuster hits which include Har Har Byomkesh, Ebar Shabor, Durga Sohay, Dhananjay, Mitin Mashi to name a few.
In 2009, Arindam Sil founded his production company Nothing Beyond Cinema marking his start as a producer.
Presently, besides being a Director, Producer, and an occasional actor, Arindam Sil is the Chairperson of Film, Media, Entertainment Committee of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also the Chairperson of the Entertainment Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce. He is the chartered president of Rotary Club of Kolkata, Urbana. He is also a passionate conservationist and a social activist.

Influenced by Stanislavsky, for four years Arindam took up drama and did not act in any television serials or movies.
Impressed by his performance in a television serial, Arindam was picked by Prabhat Roy in films.
Arindam has acted in over 10,000 episodes in various television serials and have played protagonist in the most popular serials over the years.
Arindam Sil started directing films from 2012. His first film Aborto, released in March 2013.

In 2010 NBC stepped forward to Bollywood, by line producing Spaghetti 24X7, a Gaurav Pandey film produced by Mithun Chakraborty, Kahaani, a Vidya Balan acted hindi film directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and Gunday, a film starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra & Irrfan Khan produced by the legendary Yash Raj Films, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, a film starring Sushant Singh Rajput under the banner of Yash Raj Films & Dibakar Banerjee Production. After that NBC has been associated with films like Kahani 2, Teen, Meri Pyari Bindu, and numerous Bengali films like Roop Katha Noy, Hridh Majhare, Bono Hasnh, Take One and Asbo Aar Ek Din, Dhananjay, Asche Abar Shabor, Swapnajaal, Guptadhoner Sondhane.
